I have been working with the wonderful Adam & Sarah since 2019 to create their perfect moody boho wedding. When our brilliant Wedding Specialist, Charlotte, joined my team in 2020 I knew they were in very safe hands – I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Charlotte met with the McSeveneys for their Stage 3 planning meeting and they connected instantly.
While we navigate the tests of covid and its restrictions, it’s timely to look back on some of our beautiful couples who finally, after in some cases multiple postponements, made it to the altar. In April this year, we finally got to celebrate with and bring to life the wedding of Josh & Natalie, the new Mr & Mrs Grant!
It’s always a special moment bringing to life our couples’ weddings but even more so when it’s a couple we’ve been working with for years. Roxy & Greg first met with us back in 2019 with dreams of getting married in April 2020 here in the Hunter Valley and little more than the venue booked. They told us all about their beautiful and hilarious love story and we fell in love with them too!
We recently had the privilege of celebrating the marriage of another of our COVID impacted couples – Chris & Alex Walker. We first met the couple and their gorgeous little boys in 2019. The venue was set to be their friends’ private property deep in the forest of Freemans Waterhole, on a (hopefully) beautiful day in April 2020.
There’s nothing quite like getting to finally bring a wedding to life for our couples after they’ve had to deal with the grief and anguish of postponement. The wedding of highschool sweethearts Dylan & Bria after nearly two years of planning was no exception! Dylan & Bria came to us mid 2019 with their hearts set on becoming Mr & Mrs Moore in May 2020, with a fair few suppliers booked in.
On the 28th of March we returned to the picturesque Peterson House for the beautiful wedding of Leigh & Becky Brown. Their original plan was a tropical wedding in Fiji which had to be postponed due to COVID-19, like so many peoples’ plans. They decided that rather than wait indefinitely to tie the knot overseas, they would celebrate right here in the Hunter Valley, which is where Hunter Events came in.
Deep in the rolling green hills of Dungog Shire is a gorgeous locality called Underbank. The picturesque country charm leant itself perfectly to the vision of Adam & Jaide’s unique wedding day. When we met Mr & Mrs Silvio-to-be in April 2020, we knew this one was going to be something very special. The love between them was obvious from the moment we met them.
We first met the wonderful Phil and Lauren Dann back in 2019 with nothing booked in, dreaming of a gorgeous October 2020 wedding. Meeting them was such a joy and they soon became close friends of ours. I often spent hours on the phone just chatting, from learning all about their love story to helping guide them the perfect venue.
Where do we start with the epic, cultural extravaganza that was the Hoyek Wedding?! The gorgeous Mike & Nat came to us in December 2020 just looking for help with On Day Coordination. Nearly all suppliers had been booked and their dream location, Peterson House, secured for March 2021. We immediately connected with the lively young couple and knew bringing their dream wedding to life would be a blast!
Ben & Jenna came to us late in their planning, with their date set, venue booked and most suppliers engaged. They needed our help to bring the vision together and to allow them to just relax and enjoy their day, which it was an absolute pleasure to do for this gorgeous couple. Along the way a few suppliers needed to be changed and we happily lent a hand to connect them with the perfect replacements.
Peterson House was the perfect setting for the 1920s inspired production, with the sun beaming down after a tense week of less-than-ideal weather predictions. Where to even start on this incredible wedding! Our team was armed with our 26-page runsheet and dedicated to ensuring every one of the 130+ action items on it were done perfectly, making it the day Joe & Vanessa had dreamt of for so long.
Brendon & Josie Simpson are the perfect example of a gorgeous young couple who embraced the weather and refused to let rainy conditions ruin their wedding day. We had been working with the couple to create their dream wedding since December 2019 and unfortunately our crystal ball couldn’t have predicted the weather that far in advance.
Like so many couples, their dreams were dashed by the pandemic. We quickly set about postponing to a new date and the countdown restarted for the young couple. On a stormy day in the Hunter Valley, lovebirds Kieran and Nicole finally tied the knot after a very long and anxious wait.
They say that marriages need to be built on solid foundations of resilience and understanding. Matt & Vic were tested on their resilience well before their wedding day – like so many of our couples – when COVID-19 up-ended their plans for their dream day. Few understood the full impact of the pandemic as well as Vic, being a Nurse herself.
A beautiful November day at Peppers Creek set the scene for John and Linda’s beautiful elopement. The Residence at Peppers Creek was the perfect venue for the couple to be joined by their sons and daughter in law. In the comfort of their private accommodation, they celebrated with the help of myself as the wedding planner and coordinator and a selection of exquisite local suppliers who we booked and coordinated for them.
Ben and Maria had an absolute saga of a lead-up to their big day. After helping them plan their Newcastle wedding it had to be postponed due to the horrific bushfires of 2019/2020. Then COVID-19 hit the world and they had to postpone yet again. A pandemic couldn’t stop these lovebirds – they decided to elope in October 2020 in a stunning private ceremony at The Green Cathedral , joined by their sons.
Let’s do it! You need this celebration! When I meet Jas and Josh back in February 2019, they explained their story to me and I’ve never heard so much pain and suffering from a couple and the fact they supported each other through these bad times was a testament to them both.
We had been working with Laura & Harry from almost the beginning of their Wedding journey – receiving a call early on from Laura’s Mother Karen that they were overwhelmed and needed support. Karen connected us with the lovely couple and we set about helping plan and coordinate nearly every aspect of their special day so that they could sit back, relax and just enjoy the journey together.
A perfect Spring day in the Hunter Valley set the scene for the timeless wedding of Nathan & Natasha Clagnan at Peterson House – #eequalncsquared! We met Mr & Mrs Clagnan-to-be late in their Hunter Valley wedding planning process when they had already booked most of the elements themselves. What they hadn’t anticipated (and what none of us could have) was COVID-19 throwing a massive spanner in the works as it has for so many couples.
When the country came to a sudden stop Early-Mid March Josh & Meagen were devastated to learn they couldn’t have their dream wedding and as the restrictions worsened so did their plans. However not all hope was lost, it was quickly decided that either way the most important aspect was to get married and to not put their lives and plans on hold any longer.
From the moment Mark and Alison stepped into our office, we could not wait for their wedding to come around. Throughout all of our meetings, Mark had us in stitches with his quick wit! They came to us with a lot of their planning done but in need of some help styling and added support on day.
The Scott wedding was so much fun we’d do it all again in heartbeat, we know Mitch will be happy to have his Saturday’s back for his beloved baseball and Chantelle will continue to be the prefect partner in life. We are so grateful you chose us to help plan your wedding, bring the final touches together and coordinate and emcee your special day.
A destination wedding with all your friends and family? What could be better! When we received a message from Todd and Hayley to help pull together all their hard work in planning, we were delighted! Based in Melbourne, this gorgeous couple approached us to take away this last stressful bits of planning to ensure their day ran smoothly.
When mother nature has different plans… From catching each other’s eyes at a club some 7 years ago to catching rain drops on their wedding day. The Wheeler wedding is one we will always remember. The weather report in the lead up to Wheeler Wedding was looking very touch and go unsure whether or not we would be able to go with Plan A or Plan B.
Flying high! From the moment we met Ken and Molly we knew we were going to love planning this wedding. They are the true definition of fun, family happiness and long time lovers. We met 8 months before their wedding and helped book almost all their suppliers, including this talented line up…
We met the gorgeous Shay around 2-3 weeks out from her wedding. She contacted us when another stylist had not responded and needed help booking her outside styling items. We said of course we can what’s your budget and what are you after, within two days we had a few quotes for her to consider and make changes too.
It was the perfect home wedding. When I met Jake and Bec early in 2019, they showed me their vision for a relaxed vibe backyard style wedding… and they have no ordinary backyard! They showed us the ‘Glenrock Chapel’ – a tranquil, bushland setting at the back of their property which they intended to convert into a picturesque ceremony location. We discussed their plans to undergo major outdoor entertainment area renovations and I was stunned, telling them they sure had …
Native rustic wine and vineyard themed wedding was what we designed and created for the McConville wedding. The colours were uniquely beautiful and being a mix of Red Grape, Rusty orange and Dusty blue shades. Roisin and Chris engaged our services to design and bring their styling ideas to life.
When the weather reports threaten rain, but we go with Plan A anyway! This wedding was a perfect combination of fun, romance, and a true celebration of love. We were so honoured to be a part of such a wonderful day and we wish Mr & Mrs Lawrence a lifetime of love and happiness as they embark on their new journey through life as Husband and Wife.
A party of three! When we first met Jony and Loz at a wedding expo and we spoke about their wedding plans for March 2020, however when we met for our first consultation in July we learnt that Jony and Loz had recently become a party of three, yep they had and still have a bub on board and announced they like to bring their wedding forward to the 28th September 2019 some 10-11 weeks to plan their entire wedding.
